The Secret of the Old Clock Review

Title: The Secret of the Old Clock (Book 1, Nancy Drew Mystery Stories)
Author: Carolyn Keene
My Rating:
Personal Goal: 89th out of 60 books
Page Count: 180
Genre: Children’s Literature/Mystery
Summary: Nancy Drew’s keen mind is tested when she searches for a missing will. ~Fantastic Fiction
My Thoughts: Wonderful! Absolutely the perfect start to the Nancy Drew phenomenon. I loved the mystery, the characters and even loved to hate the villains. The introduction to Carson Drew and Hannah was great, we really get to see why they’re so loved. Nancy was so likable that it amazed me. I went into reading this book expecting her to not be the same character that I already know and love simply because the writer hadn’t had a chance to develop her yet. But I was pleasantly surprised! I wish Bess, George and Ned had made an appearance but the book worked really well without them. I can’t wait to get to the book where they’re introduced.
